Hi everyone,
Gosh, I don't know where to start, I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long. We have had a lot going on since last November. It's fair to say it's been a bizarre and difficult year so far. I'm definitely ready for things to settle down and for some normalcy.
Long weekend for us so while I had some time I wanted to connect with my blog friends. I also wanted to say a very overdue and heartfelt thank you to those of you who have been in contact with me over the last few months and who have offered us such wonderful support. This community really is amazing and the friendships made here go much deeper than our shared interest in ttwd. I am so sorry that I have taken so long to thank you all.
Rick is doing fantastically well and is fully recovered from his surgery last November. He is a different man now and has lost quite a bit of weight during his recovery. He is so happy about that and is determined to keep it that way and is doing a lot of walking and eating healthier. We are now in competition with each other lol.
I would have thought Rick's surgery and recovery were enough but it seems life hadn't quite finished with us. We both went back to work at the beginning of February looking forward to getting back to some normalcy. I only lasted a week then ended up off work for a month sick. It seems I had a virus which badly affected my liver. I had no energy and somehow lost coordination and was very unstable on my feet was constantly exhausted. I also lost the ability to communicate clearly. Oh, and I lost weight, most of which I have since re-gained lol. It was a scary time wondering, and worrying about what was wrong. It was Rick's turn to worry about me. He has joked about me getting my own back lol.
My blood levels are still not quite back to normal, but almost there and I am back to my old self.
To cap things off I returned to work only to return to find out I was being moved, which added to the stress levels.
Ttwd wise, as most of you know, we haven't practiced ttwd for a long time now. Ttwd did bring many benefits to our relationship though, such as greater communication, more intimacy and a greater feeling of connection and overall how we interact.
I'm happy to say that although Rick and Rozzi land has been devoid of ttwd and any spanking action, many of the benefits it brought to our relationship have remained. Yes, there may not be much kink happening, but the important (IMHO) aspects of it have remained.
Having said the above, I did receive a light, fun spanking last weekend :) It was definitely a spanking of the fun kind and Rick took it easy given I hadn't been spanked in so long. I commented on the old familiar tingling, stinging feeling I hadn't felt in so long and Rick commented on enjoying the old familiar sight of a red bottom lol. Rick found his Dom side again in other ways too :)
I don't really see this as a return to ttwd, more of a spur of the moment thing, but I'm not complaining :)
I guess that catches you up on what's been going on here. Thank you so much again for your wonderful support, it means so much. I hope this post finds you all well.
Roz, it is just wonderful to hear from your little corner of the world. And so glad to know that you both are on the mend.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me happy for you to read that even though you are not paying much attention to ttwd, some of the benefits remain intact. That would be so important while you are going through some hard times with health issues.
You Have Been Missed,
Ella
Hi Ella, thank you so much for your lovely comment. I am so glad the last few months are behind us. We have managed to retain many of the benefits of ttwd, mainly in how we interact. Ttwd brought us greater communication and we have a better understanding of each others point of view now.

ReplyDeleteMuch love Jan, xx
Hi Jan, thank you so much for your lovely words and for your support, it means so much. I hope you are doing well and recovering well.
DeleteHmm, somehow I think any spanking action here will remain sposmadic. It was a nice surprise though :)

Happy to see a post from you. Hope you have a repeat of your little spanking fun and the move is going okay.

Roz so nice to see you back here! I'm very happy to hear that Rick has returned to health. Your virus sounds very frightening and it's great that you are back too. We call it TTWD not TTW always D! I've learned to enjoy it when it happens. I hope we'll be hearing a lot more from you. I always feel good when you comment to me.
ReplyDeleteHi PK, thank you so much for your lovely comment. I always look forward to hearing from you also. The virus was a bit scary, especially some of the strange symptoms!
DeleteIt's funny, I think we are back to the occasional spanking action for fun, which is where we started before embracing DD.

Roz
Hey sweet Roz...was so happy to see your blog pop up on my reading list. Good gravy! You two have been through so much! Happy to hear you are both recovering. TTWD is whatever you do...spanking or no, kink or no...whatever works and makes you both happy!
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't reached out as much as I should have but you both have been in my thoughts and prayers. Continuing to send prayers and healing energy your way.
Hugs and blessings...Cat
Hi Cat, thank you so much for your lovely words. Please don't apologise, you have always been a wonderful support to me.
DeleteIt has been a bizarre and trying year so far. I'm definitely ready for things to calm down! lol

Roz
Hi Roz, how wonderful to see you post again! Hearing that you and Rick have recovered is awesome news, and I am just glad that the infection you had is over, and hopefully the blood levels will be back to where they belong in no time. Eating healthy food and taking a little care of ones health sounds like a good idea to me. I try to get back into shape, too, but my sweet tooth is big, uhm, no huge, so there is still some way to go for me. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved reading about the light fun spanking you had, it sounds so much like you and Rick are having a good time - not the job part, that sucks, I am sorry that you had to deal with that – and apart from that, you sound happy, which is simply wonderful. Wishing you a great week.
hugs
Nina
Hi Nina, thank you so much. I am so glad to be over the illness, it was awful, and a little scary, especially given some of the strange symptoms. Rick really is a different man now and is so happy with the weight loss, I'm thrilled. I'm afraid I have a massive sweet tooth too though.
ReplyDeleteThe spanky action was a nice surprise. I guess he just decided he was in the mood :) I do think it will remain sposmadic and just for fun.

Roz
Hi Roz, I'm so glad you're back! Glad Rick is on the upswing too. I thought TTWD was anything you wanted it to be! Fun spankings and good benefits should count!
ReplyDeleteCygnet
Hi Cygnet, thank you so much. You are right, TTWD is whatever works for each couple.

Roz
Hey Lady.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you 'here' :D. You know I am sorry already about all the health stuff, so I'll leave that part.
I am indeed conflicted with the ttwd part. You and Rick were such a big help to me that first Christmas, it is difficult to believe there is no more D/s ( and a tad scary for the rest of us). That being said, after the year plus I have had over here, I can certainly see how it manages to fade away.
It is wonderful to hear that all you have learned through ttwd has mostly stayed in tact. I hope that through time, you both come to an area that is more than just 'okay' for you. One where you are elated again, whether that be through out and out overt D/s or weekend playing. There is nothing worse than the longing of a feeling from before.
Much love willie
Hi Willie, you know, I have heard it said that for a 'true' D/s couple, the dynamic is always there regardless. Life won't get in the way (as we say). However, we have certainly found it has for us. Well, perhaps not totally given that many of the benefits have remained? In our case, Rick wasn't really comfortable with some aspects of DD, which is the main reason it stopped.
DeleteWe seem to have come full circle back to where we started, with occasional play, although that hadn't happened eith in a very long time until the other weekend. Fingers crossed it won't be so long until the next time!
If I have been a support or help to you I am so glad. You have certainly been a wonderful support to me.
Love and hugs
Roz
I was so happy to see your name appear on my blog roll...have been wearing my grandma hat for 10 days, so have not been able to comment. You have had a rough...very rough ..time of it...hope all that is behind you. It is true that the connection that we have with our partners, does seem to carry us through even the roughest of times...Hang in there...I know from experience, recovery is a lot slower than we would like, but sounds like you are well on your way..
ReplyDeletehugs abby
Hi Abby, thank you so much :) I am feeling back to normal now, thank goodness. I have to actually follow up the last blood test but the previous one showed mh levels were nearly back to normal. Definitely praying that the rest of this year will be smooth!

Roz
No matter how you do it, it's still ttwd. it's what you do and it works. Sorry that I wasn't around to know all that you were going through, but I am sure glad to hear that things are getting better.
ReplyDeleteHi Blondie, thank you so much, and please don't apologise. I'm definitely glad that most of the health issues are behind us and you are right in what you said about ttwd. Maybe for us it should be ttwsd, this thing we sometimes do lol.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Roz
Glad that things are much better and sometimes the fun spankings are the best of all.
ReplyDeleteHi Tiffany, Thank you so much :) Oh yes, spankings of the fun kind are definitely the best :)

Roz

so good to see you here...sorry I am so late...I am so glad you are both feeling better and in good health. And it is nice to see that you are both doing well together and glad you had a nice little surprise spanking. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteHi Terps, thank you so much for your lovely words, and please don't apologise, I'm sorry I have taken so long to reply!

Only just catching up after our move, Roz. I am so glad to hear Rick is good as new after all he's been through. I am sorry you also went through the mill! It never rains but it pours, as they say.
ReplyDeleteI think I would stick to fun spankings for a while if I were you. They are the best type anyway. I have to admit that we mostly have just the fun type round here these days.
Take care, both of you.
Many hugs
Ami
Hi Ami, thank you so much :) I hope life is settling down a bit now the move is complete. Wishing you the best with the renovations.
DeleteI totally agree, fun spankings are the best, and the only sort here nowdays ... occasionally :)

Roz
I'm glad things are going well and that you guys are happy and on the mend.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the point you made about how even if you're not currently practicing TTWD, having connected via it previously has had a lasting effect on your relationship.
My Sir and I have our ups and downs with TTWD, but I definitely beleive that we are strong as a couple because of those times that we are doing TTWD... the intimacy and communication lasts and lasts!
Hi Lea, welcome, and thank you so much for reading and for your comment, I'm sorry I am so late in replying.
DeleteSome of the benefits of ttwd, such as greater communication and closeness do seem to stay with us, even if other aspects fall away. It has definitely had lasting positive effects for us :)

Roz
Clearly it took me a while to read this. Im so glad the infection is sorted and rick is doing better. However i dont think you can ever stop doing TTWD. Its there - just maybe in a different form? Im certain the missing spankings must be different but the trust and communication and ability to focus on the relationship are still very much present. Glad to have u back! Looking forward to more posts.
ReplyDeleteHi Fondles, thank you so much. so good to see you back in blogland again, I missed you :)
DeleteSome of the benefits of ttwd have definitely remained, such as greater communication and intimacy, but the physical side only happens very occasionally now. When I think about it, I think you are right, still there but in a different way.
Hugs
Roz
So nice to see you still blogging Roz :) I'm sorry to hear about the lows but glad to hear things are getting better :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mala, welcome! Thank you for visiting and for your lovely comment. I will have to come and visit you :)

Roz
Roz,
ReplyDeleteI'm here lurking on your site, lol. I must say, I wondered why you weren't blogging anymore and now I understand. I'm glad you were able to remain closely bonded with each other even when discontinuing dd. The dynamic does help couples grow deeper I think but it certainly isn't the only way!
Thank you for being a support to me as I share our journey as well as the other bloggers here trying to find our way. Love to you!
